Sam Lai, Executive Vice-President Sam has compared over 15,000 homes as an established real estate appraiser in the Seattle region. He has acquired properties, managed construction rehabs of existing homes, managed rental properties and developed new construction projects. His most recent project is a five star “Built-Green” home featured in Seattle Metropolitan Magazine and the World’s Greenest-Homes television show. Sam is a graduate of the University of Washington and currently serves on the board of New Horizon’s Ministries in downtown Seattle. |

Canuche Terranella, Chief Operations Officer and Controller Canuche works to make Green Canopy a company that investors clamor to own. He converts the individual knowledge of the experts on the team into company knowledge that can be replicated. As the director of Green Canopy Consulting, Canuche acts at the confluence of energy efficiency, finance and business operations. He developed the initial financial models for Enterprise Cascadia and the City of Seattle’s residential loan program, Community Power Works. Canuche began his career doing environmental consulting with Kleinfelder International, worked with General Biodiesel to help develop a sustainability plan. He recently completed his MBA from Bainbridge Graduate Institute with a focus on sustainable business. |

Justin Hooks, Construction Program Manager Justin, who prefers J, is an experienced professional in construction project management with over eleven years of diverse responsibility in the industry. He is an integral part of the Green Canopy team and responsible for the overall management of our construction projects, including pre-aquisition budgeting, estimating and bidding subcontractors, overall and daily management of our on-site superintendents and finishing the final punch list of each project. He works closely with the entire team to ensure the comfort, beauty and successful completion of every Green Canopy Home. J is also partial owner of a brewery (and this has been confirmed). |

Krystal Meiners, Marketing Manager Krystal leads the day-to-day marketing and community outreach for Green Canopy and works closely with the whole team; from acquisition and design to construction and sale. Her diverse background in architecture, transportation planning and ecological design accounts for her holistic approach to marketing for green homes and sustainable communities. Krystal works every day to build the Green Canopy brand and to inspire energy efficiency in a way that is creative, innovative and exciting not only for our future home-owners, but also the neighborhoods in which we work. Krystal has a Master’s degree in Architecture from the Savannah College of Art and Design in Georgia. |

Andy Wolverton, Business Development & Operations Manager Andy’s real estate background started while working for his family’s property management firm in Portland. He began with the Green Canopy team in August 2009 as a marketing and operations intern. Andy currently supports the Green Canopy construction team, manages the Green Canopy Capital Program, which facilitates private investments directly into Green Canopy homes, and performs financial analysis for additional business development. Andy graduated summa cum laude from Seattle Pacific University in June 2011, where he earned a Business Admin degree with concentrations in management and finance and received the 2010-11 Best Business Plan Award. At SPU, he played on the men’s soccer team for four years and captained the team during his junior and senior seasons. |

Sonja Gustafson, LEED AP, Technical & Strategic Advisor: Marketing Sonja is a marketing veteran of 20 years dating back to her “go-go” days at Microsoft. With Microsoft she was deeply involved in creating and opening up the new markets of multimedia software, including product management for Microsoft Encarta, Microsoft Bookshelf, and Multimedia Beethoven. She then moved on to help bring the first version of the corporate intranet MSWeb at Microsoft. Sonja has since immersed herself in the local non-profit scene by taking grantor oversight roles at Social Venture Partners. Sonja is a partner at The Steve Trautman Co., providing business executives with the simplest, most relevant, and quick solutions for knowledge transfer. She has an MBA from the University of Washington, and a Sustainable Building Advisory certification issued by the National Sustainable Building Advisory Program (NaSBAP). |

Kevin Sikes, Project Manager Kevin has over 15 years experience in construction and has developed a wide range of applied and practical skills in design, cabinet making, finish and specialty carpentry. In 1998, Kevin graduated from the University of Kansas with a degree in Systems Ecology and continued his education at Naropa University, in the Environmental Leadership program in 2006. With his combined education and construction experience, Kevin offers a unique perspective to the Green Canopy mission, and seeks to integrate ecological principles in the construction and home remodeling industry. |

Ryan Nieto, General Labor & Mechanical Systems Ryan Nieto has spent the last five years developing and applying his mechanical skills in the world of residential retrofit construction. He obtained his Performance Test Comfort Systems certification from the Washington State University Energy Extension program in 2010. Ryan received an Honorable Discharge from the Marine Corps in 2004, where he developed an eye for attention to detail and a lifetime of motivation. Armed with a keen eye, knowledge of air movement, thermal transfer and building science, Ryan is now on the front lines of Green Canopy’s war against unintended air infiltration and heat loss. |

Todd Vogel, Director – Todd Vogel is the Executive Director of the International Sustainability Institute, a Seattle not-for-profit that brings international best practices in sustainability to the Puget Sound. Vogel and ISI have been a leader in Seattle at helping the city understand and re-envision public space. He has a Ph.D. in American Studies, works locally as a funder of non-profits, and nationally chairs an advisory committee dedicated to helping funders think expansively about people, opportunity and place. |

Randy Goodwin, Director – Randy Goodwin is a Seattle native who graduated with a degree in business administration from Washington State University in 1980. Randy’s business background includes 14 years working with two large third party administrators in both marketing and account executive positions. Following this, Randy opened and managed for over four years an office for an actuarial and consulting firm out of San Francisco. Starting in January 1998, Randy assumed his current position as Vice President, Client Services, for Washington Capital Management responsible for both servicing the client base and cultivating and developing new client relationships. He has been a member of the firm’s board of directors since 2006. Randy is also a former board member of Edmonds Community College. |
